STATEMENT OF FAITH
by Ashley Day1. In the Inspiration of Scripture… in the verbal,
plenary authority of the Bible and that its divine inspiration extends
equally and fully to all of the writings. Scripture should be interpreted
literally unless otherwise indicated in the context.
See: 2 Tim 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Cor 2:13
2. In the Trinity... that the God exists eternally
in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these distinct
persons are one God in being, essence and power.
See: Matt 28:19; Mark 12:29; Heb 1:1-3; John 1:14
3. In the Creation… that the eternal Word of God
is the creator of all things, visible and invisible.
See: John 1:1–4; Isaiah 45:18; Heb 11:3; Rev 4:11
4. In the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ… that the eternal
Word became flesh, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born
of the virgin Mary and that He became the incarnate Son of God, Immanuel
-meaning "God with us".
See: Matt 1:23; Luke 2:11; John 1:14; Gal 4:4-5
5. In the Holy Spirit… in the personality and deity
of the Spirit of God and His indwelling presence within every true believer.
See: John 14:26;
2 Cor 3:18; Eph 3:16; Rom 8:26; Gal 5:16,17,22,23
6. In Angels… in the reality and personality of angelic
beings, created by God and subject to Christ; both benevolent and malevolent,
including the great enemy of God and man, Satan.
See: Ps 91:11; Heb 1:13-14; Luk 15:10; Is 14:12-14
7. In Sin and its Consequences… that man was created
in the image of God and for fellowship with Him; yet man fell through
sin.
See: Rom
3:10, 23; 6:23; John 3:16-18
8. In the Salvation
of Souls… that we are justified solely through placing
our faith in Jesus Christ; the provision which God has made, through
the shed blood of His Son for the forgiveness of sin, for the saving
of men and women, boys and girls.
See: John 3:16; Rom 5:1; 10:9-10; 10:17; Eph 2:8-10
9. In the Family of God… that each true believer has
been placed by God’s Spirit into the “body of Christ” and all
are members of the family of God.
See: 1
Cor 12:13; Rom 8:14-17; Eph 4:16; Col 1:18
10. In the Resurrection… in the physical rising of
our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and His later ascension and glorified,
bodily presence at the right hand of God the Father, as our only great
High Priest and advocate.
See: Matt
28:5-6; 1 Peter 3:22; Luke 24:51; Eph 1:20–22; Heb 7:25–27
11. In the Blessed Hope… with expectancy, the coming
of our Lord Jesus; when living believers will be “caught up”
to meet Him in the air… following the transformation of the dead in
Christ.
See: Acts 1:11;
1 Thess 4:15-17, 5:9; 1 Cor 15:50-54; Titus 2:13-14
12. Christ’s Coming in Power & Glory… in the subsequent,
visible and pre-millennial return of Christ with His church to establish
His worldwide kingdom on the earth.
See: Rev
19:6, 11-13; Acts 15:16-17; Isaiah 11:6-9; Rev 20:4-6
13. That Each Person will Stand Before God… in the
physical resurrection of all men. That the saved will appear before
the Judgment Seat of Christ for the testing of their works. The unsaved
will give an account before the Great White Throne, where eternal condemnation
awaits those who reject Jesus Christ as Savior.
See: 1 Corinthians 3:11–15; 2 Cor 5:10; Dan 12:2; Rev 20:11-15
14. That the Great Commission… is the primary mission
of the church. The Gospel of the grace of God, is to be preached to
all the world and that believers must tell a lost and dying generation
this good news, that Jesus died for the sins of the world.
See: Luke
24:44-49; Matt 28:18-20; 2 Cor 5:18-20; Rom 10:15; Is 6:8
