The Christmas story was the beginning of the greatest rescue operation ever put into motion! It was conceived in eternity and fulfilled in time. How could Creator God, in His absolute perfection, forgive man's sin without jeopardizing His own holiness?
The entire human race was cut off from God by inherited sin... therefore, the penalty would have to fall upon an innocent substitute. Yet, there was no such perfection on planet earth.
There was only one solution: the substitute would have to be God Himself!
