The Christ of Christmas is knowable! When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, God stepped out of eternity and into time for the specific purpose of bearing the penalty of men's sin upon Himself and restoring relationship with guilty souls.
Such intimacy with the God of the universe requires a humble cooperation like that of His mother, Mary, who bowed before God's request to enter her life. Like her, our salvation depends upon opening ourselves to Him: "be it unto me according to Your word!" I receive You as my Savior and I give myself to You. I allow You Lord Jesus to come to live within me.
