The Gospel of John
"In Him was life; and the life was the light of men and the light shined in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." John 1:4-5
C.I. Scofield describes this Holy One as
"the divine wisdom, the collective thought of God,"
quoting from Colossians 2:3
"In Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
So left to ourselves, we do not have the equipment to discern spiritual truth.

But John's Gospel brings eternal realities to a personal level. The author reveals how, in becoming flesh, God came to know us individually and to lavish upon us an unconditional love that has nothing to do with our past, of any present feelings of unworthiness or any meager accomplishments we might try to offer Him.
