No, Jacob’s flaws were right out there for us to see. As we evaluate our own Christian lives, there are two great themes which we need to keep in mind: The wonders of the beauty and grace of God’s nature and the contrasting unworthiness of our own. These two must always be held in tandem. Seeing only one of the two creates an imbalance which unsteadies our walk with the Lord. |
