Easter Message
The resurrection was the crowning display of the Lord Jesus' victory over the powers of evil and over the death. By His taking the role of our perfect substitute and dying in our place, He, in resurrection that first Easter morning, claimed a victory of unimaginable significance. It openly displayed 3 crucial things:
- Sin had been successfully paid for on the cross.
- Death (which sin caused), had been overcome.
- Satan’s power had forever been neutralized.
| The perfect justice of God was satisfied by the sacrificial offering of Jesus on our behalf, the penalty was forever paid and Satan could no longer claim man’s sin as his authority! As Jesus died he cried, “It is finished!” What was finished? The work of salvation; the work of destroying the vice grip Satan had on the human race. All that remains is for each of us to come to Him, recognizing our sin and turning in humility to Him to be our Savior. That is triumph and personal victory! |
