Epistle to the Colossians
The most dangerous error is that which is nearest the truth because it appears harmless and it often goes undetected. The two errors in the Colossian Church were religious legalism and human philosophy. They threatened to undermine the faith of the Christian believers by substituting human effort or wisdom for the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

This letter to the ancient Colossians is as fresh today as it was then because it stresses the preeminence of Christ in all things and sets Him forth as the fountainhead of all knowledge, wisdom and truth.
Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And you are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power.
