The Book of Joshua
Joshua was tasked by God to lead the children of Israel, after 40 years of wilderness wandering, into the promised land. The first recorded action of Joshua in Scripture is in the context of warfare. It is an act of obedience and carried out through faith. We are also told that "all these things happened to them as examples and are written for our learning and admonition." I Corinthians 10:11
